About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the mechanical discipline on multiple concurrent projects through pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases
- Lead design teams and mentor junior staff
- Develop construction-ready design packages of drawings and specifications with inter-discipline coordination
- Serve as Engineer of Record
- Design HVAC systems and sustainable solutions with architects, engineers, project managers, and clients
- Develop budgets, proposals, schedules, project plans, and staffing plans
- Pursue potential clients and project opportunities
- Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys and data collection
- Conduct power system studies and electrical system audits
- Collaborate with clients’ team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. citizenship is required for federal employment eligibility
- Experience with Federal Projects
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience or more in consulting engineering and facility design
- Experience producing IFC design packages for federal agency facilities
- Professional Engineering Licensure in the United States
- Multiple state licenses preferred
- Knowledge of industry standards including ASHRAE, UFC, and UFGS, and building codes
- Fluency in Revit, BIM, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, and SpecsIntact
- Strong communication skills for presentations, project communications, and written documents
- Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external team members
- Ability to develop additional project opportunities
