About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects
  • Apply physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization processes and technologies
  • Delegate engineering or scientific calculations and drawings to mid-level and junior staff
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions
  • Participate in business development and sales opportunities, including selling projects and preparing proposals
  • Support or lead projects from study phase through design, construction, startup, commissioning, and operation and maintenance
  • Plan and execute projects as an active business and risk manager
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and career-development feedback to project team members
  • Contribute to business development, technology, and project delivery
  • Travel for client meetings, project site visits, and staffing needs up to 25%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of consulting engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of industrial wastewater experience preferred
  • Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Strong understanding of industrial wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience with design delivery, capital and operation and maintenance cost estimation
  • Consulting engineering firm experience
  • Project scheduling and work planning
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver industrial water projects
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Raleigh, NC
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 25%
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in environmental or chemical engineering
  • Preferred: 12+ years of experience
  • Preferred: Proven ability to sell projects to industrial clients
  • Preferred: Very strong competitor knowledge and focus
  • Preferred: Demonstrated team player and builder
