About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Function as the process engineer on industrial water and wastewater projects
- Apply physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization processes and technologies
- Delegate engineering or scientific calculations and drawings to mid-level and junior staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions
- Participate in business development and sales opportunities, including selling projects and preparing proposals
- Support or lead projects from study phase through design, construction, startup, commissioning, and operation and maintenance
- Plan and execute projects as an active business and risk manager
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, guidance, and career-development feedback to project team members
- Contribute to business development, technology, and project delivery across the IWTO business
- Travel for client meetings, project site visits, and project staffing needs up to 25%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of consulting engineering experience
- 10+ years of industrial wastewater experience preferred
- Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
- Valid US driver’s license
- Strong understanding of different types of industrial wastewater treatment systems
- Experience with design delivery, capital and operation and maintenance cost estimation
- Consulting engineering firm experience
- Project scheduling and work planning
- Proven ability to manage and deliver industrial water projects
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in environmental or chemical engineering
- Preferred: 12+ years of experience
- Proven ability to sell projects to industrial clients
- Strong competitor knowledge and focus
