About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, mentor, and provide technical guidance to the construction inspection team
- Conduct field visits and QA/QC reviews of inspection staff
- Ensure construction activities comply with contract plans, specifications, standards, permits, and applicable codes
- Review inspector documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
- Coordinate with inspection staff, RE, contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to resolve field issues
- Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or construction risks
- Promote consistent use of required safety practices and quality standards
- Support project close-out activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and record documentation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15+ years of heavy highway, bridge, and roadway construction inspection experience
- At least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Proficiency with project documentation software
- Ability to read complex engineering plans and contract documents
- High school diploma required
- OSHA 10 preferred
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician-Grade 1 preferred
- Society of Asphalt Technologists (SAT) certification preferred
- Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) preferred
- Amtrak Contractor training and certification required to work on the project
