About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the technical execution of pump station work
- Serve as lead designer and/or design manager for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure, treatment plants, pump stations, and hydraulic structures
- Develop layouts, perform hydraulic calculations, size equipment, and develop contract drawings and specifications
- Exercise engineering judgment to solve complex water infrastructure challenges
- Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams from schematic design through construction
- Participate in the national process mechanical practice
- Serve as a regional technical resource
- Mentor junior engineers and grow team capabilities in South Florida
- Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of water infrastructure
- Establish client relationships and support pump station marketing and pursuit efforts
- Scope and budget water infrastructure project tasks
- Travel as needed for project site visits, client meetings, team meetings, and conferences
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10 years of pump station design experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
- Florida PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Technical engineering experience designing water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure, including treatment plants and pump stations
- Strong written, oral, and technical writing skills
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
- Client relationship, proposal development, and client management experience with a successful project delivery track record
- Functional experience with MS Office applications
- Preferred: 15+ years of experience; Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or an MBA
- Preferred: Experience with large and complex water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure
- Preferred: Experience with complex pumping systems such as diesel-driven pumps
- Preferred: Familiarity with Hydraulic Institute Standards and USACE Engineering Manuals
- Preferred: Experience with key clients in South Florida
