About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
  • Oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
  • Conduct groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, remediation system operation and maintenance, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys
  • Plan and implement site investigations, field studies, remediation programs, and mine-related process evaluations
  • Conduct and oversee environmental sampling, drilling and well installation, pilot testing, and treatment-system operation and maintenance
  • Coordinate and manage laboratory testing programs using routine and specialized analytical methods
  • Analyze and interpret technical data
  • Prepare reports, cost estimates, health and safety plans, regulatory reviews, proposals, and other project deliverables
  • Support bench-scale and pilot studies through technical calculations, process evaluations, P&IDs, and testing plans
  • Manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client communications
  • Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, hydrogeologists, geologists, and other technical specialists
  • Mentor and support junior staff through technical guidance, field training, and professional development
  • Perform both office work and field work, with 25–40% of time expected in the field

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)
  • 4+ years of experience in geology, geochemistry, or engineering field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently, in teams, and remotely
  • Adaptable, creative problem-solving and collaborative abilities
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (preferred)
  • MSHA 24-hour New Miner training (preferred)
  • Experience in geochemistry or chemical engineering focused on metals and radionuclides and experience in an environmental analytical laboratory (preferred)
