About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Project Managers in planning and executing baseline surveys, permitting, data evaluations, regulatory compliance, environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee fieldwork scopes, including drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation
- Perform groundwater sampling and oversee subcontractors
- Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, geologists, project/program managers, technical experts, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Participate in permitting, site investigation, and remediation projects
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Conduct project-related research on historical data and regulations
- Prepare periodic status/program reports
- Analyze and interpret field data
- Perform office tasks including task management, data analysis, report preparation, scope preparation, and client communications
- Conduct fieldwork with a focus on health and safety
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (e.g., environmental science, physical science)
- 5 years of experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting, independently, and remotely
- Adaptable, creative problem-solving ability
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
- MSHA 24 hr Surface Mine preferred
- Ability to perform office and field work, including work at project sites with environmental media
- Ability to focus on health and safety during fieldwork
- Proficiency with basic software such as Leapfrog and ArcGIS
