About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate, plan, and design water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance projects, including pipelines and pumping facilities
- Support project management activities
- Contribute to sustainability and resilience projects through vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and solution design for utilities, municipalities, and cities
- Perform site visits and water sampling
- Analyze water quality
- Evaluate technologies, troubleshoot processes, and optimize plant operations
- Gather critical data and support efficient functioning of water and wastewater systems
- Prepare reports, presentations, and audio-visual materials
- Participate in client meetings
- Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards
- Coordinate timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget
- Learn, design, and manage databases, SQL Server, reporting and integration services, cloud-based computing services, and interactive dashboards
- Collaborate independently and as part of a team across the U.S. and internationally
- Use digital tools including SharePoint, BIM, Power BI, and Augmented Reality to enhance collaboration and project delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Diligent work ethic
- Proactive and able to embrace new projects and challenges
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and adaptable
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity or experience with AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Prior work/internship experience at a design or consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and/or Revit preferred
- EIT certification preferred
