About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Engineers, Scientists, and Project Managers with water infrastructure project work
  • Provide GIS and data analysis support to projects with water utility clients
  • Organize data analyses for program decisions, grant funding, and workstream optimization
  • Organize small teams to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection and curation
  • Organize analyses from field work and data aggregation through client-ready reports and assets
  • Coordinate and participate in training activities for junior data analysts
  • Ensure SOP development, data integrity, and quality control
  • Interview stakeholders to understand data-driven decision-making goals
  • Understand internal and external KPIs and metrics and guide data feeds into measurements
  • Ensure collected data is accurate, standardized, and usable for downstream data products
  • Review client-facing data products and flag bugs or issues
  • Maintain calendars, MS Planner boards, and project management assets when appropriate
  • Troubleshoot team issues, perform root cause analysis, and make adjustments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably STEM related
  • 9 years of experience, including 2 years in a consulting capacity
  • Experience leading small data teams
  • Experience applying data analysis best practices to support informed decision-making
  • Strong understanding of statistical principles, including random sampling and confidence intervals
  • Experience collaborating with field data collection teams
  • Working knowledge of database technology such as SQL Server
  • Ability to write basic SQL code independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound problem-solving abilities
  • Experience developing technical methodologies, procedures, and documentation is highly desirable
