About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead cross-functional systems engineering teams to develop system-level technical solutions for the Missile Defense Agency
  • Guide development of system-level architecture, requirements, and interfaces to influence incremental capability
  • Use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to evaluate architectural impacts through functional behavior analysis
  • Analyze conventional and advanced threat systems within MDA mission areas
  • Collaborate in the MBSE environment to develop system-of-systems requirements through system/component trade studies and analysis
  • Lead development of Change Notices to MDA’s system specification
  • Develop functional, interface, and performance requirements, architectural models, and interface definitions
  • Support trace verification from system-level to element-level requirements
  • Develop and deliver technical briefings and Change Notices for internal and MDA stakeholder reviews
  • Work closely with customers and cross-functional teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required Secret security clearance
  • Strong technical background in systems thinking, architecture development, functional decomposition, and allocation of performance, functional, and interface requirements
  • Strong prior experience using MSOSA (Cameo) and DOORS
  • Demonstrated knowledge in at least one MDA domain area, including Aegis Weapons Systems, GMD, GPI, HBTSS, Fire Control, C2BMC, MDS sensors, IBCS, SBI, NGI, OPIR systems, Cruise Missile Defense, or Air Defense
  • Ability to think critically and capture concepts in papers, presentations, and discussions
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, within a small team, and in close coordination with the customer
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in engineering, mathematics, or physics
