About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategic migration of cloud infrastructure from Azure and AWS to GCP
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable cloud and platform architectures, focusing on networking
- Establish and maintain cloud security and compliance standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams
- Lead architecture reviews aligned with technical and business objectives
- Drive cloud and platform management best practices and operational excellence
- Support production system reliability through an on-call rotation
- Manage third-party platforms throughout their lifecycle for performance, security, and cost efficiency
- Define and evolve the Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform strategy, focusing on networking
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve Developer Experience and platform integration
- Drive automation, monitoring, and deployment practices to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Contribute to the engineering Community of Practice through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience in cloud and platform infrastructure engineering
- Expertise in cloud networking and designing scalable, resilient, and highly available architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and cloud cost optimisation
- Proficiency in Linux, Infrastructure as Code, automation, GitOps, and CI/CD practices
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes networking, RBAC, disaster recovery, and production performance optimisation
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Ability to collaborate across teams and influence technical decisions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Passion for continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence
- Participation in an on-call rotation
