About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own features from technical scoping through deployment and post-launch iteration
Design and extend schemas, APIs, and business logic for new product capabilities
Ship high-quality product code across the stack
Incorporate user feedback from data, direct user contact, and product instincts
Work with ML researchers to turn research services into production capabilities
Collaborate with design, product, and engineering on product decisions
Identify and advocate for improvements to development, testing, and deployment practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on enterprise or developer-facing product development
Experience building user-facing web applications spanning frontend, backend/API, and database
Understanding of the request lifecycle across application layers
Clear, concise communication and ability to explain technical decisions
Evidence of shipping and iterating on features owned end-to-end
Product engineering mindset focused on user outcomes
Genuine curiosity about AI evaluation and Arena's mission
Familiarity with NextJS, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, ShadCN, HonoJS, Postgres, and Vitest
Experience with Supabase or Vercel's AI SDK
Experience shipping without PM or design support
