About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build an in-house accounting function and transition away from the current external service providers
Take responsibility for complex accounting transactions, including provisions, accruals and deferrals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and foreign currencies
Independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), and perform complex account reconciliations
Ensure accurate balance sheet and income statement data in close coordination with tax advisors and auditors
Analyze and resolve complex accounting and valuation issues, and prepare tax-relevant data, including VAT advance returns and corporate and trade tax information
Support tax audits and provide internal stakeholders with professional guidance on accounting and tax matters
Independently develop technical concepts and standards and implement them across the company
Analyze, further develop, and continuously improve existing business processes, including structured reporting on key performance indicators and process efficiency
Work cross-functionally with various departments, including coordinating cross-departmental teams and time-limited project assignments as required
Support the leadership team in further developing the accounting strategy and contribute to short- and long-term company objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed commercial vocational training or a university degree in economics, business administration, or a comparable qualification with a focus on accounting or finance
Several years of professional experience in accounting (at least 5–7 years)
Proficient user knowledge of standard MS Office applications, particularly Excel
General affinity for IT and willingness to contribute to digital transformation
SAP experience is an advantage
Analytical and structured approach, strong numerical aptitude, and excellent problem-solving skills
Initiative, sense of responsibility, and a reliable, meticulous working style
Fluent German and very good English skills
