About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process appellate cases and court rules
  • Receive, process, and distribute documents and information regarding cases and agendas
  • Assist court customers in person, by telephone, and email
  • Prepare legal documents
  • Maintain court records and perform other court-related functions
  • Serve as a courtroom bailiff, potentially onsite or traveling with the Court
  • Exercise a higher level of independent decision-making than a Deputy Clerk II
  • Work under the direction of the Court Operations Manager and the Clerk of the Court
  • Complete case processing using an automated case management system and eFiling workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a court or other similar environment
  • Ability to effectively organize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in front-counter customer assistance skills, including receiving documents, conducting financial transactions, and responding appropriately to questions
  • Ability to problem-solve and work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use office technology such as scanners, web-based applications, and MS Office Suite products
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Ability to travel with the Court when serving as courtroom bailiff
