About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work in a chemical manufacturing plant under a supervisor who provides regular assessments and feedback
  • Participate in multidisciplinary projects related to the intern's field of study and industry best practices
  • Support ongoing initiatives and contribute to developing and implementing new processes and technologies
  • Develop understanding of P&IDs and perform engineering calculations
  • Collaborate with multiple departments
  • Present project work and key learnings to site leadership at the conclusion of the internship
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to resolve technical issues and improve plant operations
  • Research and analyze new technologies and process improvements
  • Prepare reports and presentations on projects and process improvements
  • Assist engineering teams with project-related needs
  • Support and comply with plant safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in HES activities and support reporting of health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident, and injury incidents

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Successfully completed at least 2 years of degree program
  • Strong preference for 3.0 GPA or above
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to comply with plant safety policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal requirements
  • Ability to wear proper PPE while working in the manufacturing setting
