About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a portfolio of music and touring client engagements, overseeing service delivery, client relationships, and complex financial and operational matters
  • Oversee client accounting and reporting, including monthly close, financial statements, cash flow forecasts, budgets, and year-end tax information gathering
  • Review touring budgets, cash flow projections, and tour financial reporting, identifying funding needs, variances, and matters requiring client action
  • Oversee accounting for touring income and expenses, artist and crew payroll, vendor payments, and royalty activity, as applicable
  • Establish and monitor payment approval procedures and financial controls, including authorized bank signatory responsibilities where assigned
  • Lead client meetings and coordinate with attorneys, tax advisors, investment advisors, insurance brokers, talent agents, artist managers, and other professional service providers
  • Oversee financial support for significant client transactions, including asset purchases, financing, investment subscriptions, and insurance needs
  • Manage engagement scope, budgets, billing, and profitability; address scope changes and recommend fee or staffing adjustments
  • Supervise Managers and Account Managers, allocate resources, and monitor staff utilization and delivery deadlines
  • Develop staff through performance feedback, coaching, training, and assignments
  • Collaborate with Partners on client relationship transitions, onboarding, and continuity of service
  • Identify additional service needs within existing client relationships and coordinate delivery across Armanino’s service lines
  • Develop new business opportunities through referral relationships, prospective client meetings, proposals, pricing, and engagement letters
  • Lead improvements to accounting workflows, technology adoption, and service procedures
  • Represent Armanino’s Business Management practice through industry events, professional networks, and thought leadership activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 12 years of business management experience, including experience managing engagements for music and touring clients
  • Experience serving as the primary relationship lead for music clients and coordinating financial matters with artist managers, agents, attorneys, or other advisors
  • Experience overseeing touring budgets, cash flow forecasts, and tour financial reporting
  • Experience reviewing financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and monthly and year-end close processes
  • Experience overseeing financial operations across multiple client entities, including bill pay, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting
  • Experience supervising Managers and Account Managers, including assigning work, reviewing deliverables, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Experience managing engagement budgets, billing, staffing, and profitability
  • Experience coordinating significant client financial transactions, such as asset acquisitions, financing arrangements, or investment transactions
  • Experience developing new engagements or expanding services for existing clients, including preparing scope, pricing, proposals, or engagement letters
  • Experience using business management accounting and bill payment systems, including AgilLink or QuickBooks Online
  • Active CPA or CFP certification (preferred)
  • Experience reviewing royalty accounting, publishing income, or record label activity (preferred)
  • Experience transitioning established client relationships from a Partner or other senior leader (preferred)
  • Experience implementing accounting technology, financial controls, or workflow improvements across a team (preferred)
  • Experience participating in music industry associations, speaking at industry events, or publishing relevant thought leadership (preferred)
