About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and assist with fraud investigations, forensic investigations, business valuation engagements, contract compliance matters, and dispute and litigation consulting engagements
- Review and analyze financial information, accounting records, tax returns, forecasts, transaction documents, and court pleadings
- Assist with litigation discovery and valuation-related document requests
- Develop financial models and perform financial analysis for business valuation, litigation, and forensic accounting engagements
- Perform business valuations using income, market, and asset approaches
- Research industries, economic conditions, guideline public companies, M&A transactions, discount rates, and valuation discounts and premiums
- Prepare and review valuation analyses, schedules, reports, expert reports, and other client deliverables
- Lead and support fraud investigations, including embezzlement, financial reporting fraud, Ponzi schemes, and health care fraud
- Lead and support dispute and litigation consulting matters involving disputes, lost profits, lost wages, and damages analysis
- Develop relationships with colleagues, clients, referral sources, and industry stakeholders
- Assist with client communication, invoicing, collections, budgets, deliverables, and presenting findings
- Mentor and coach staff on forensic accounting, financial analysis, and business valuation
- Assist with business development, proposals, and industry and networking events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related area of study
- Business valuation or finance credentials such as Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar credentials are desirable
- Credentials related to fraud, forensic accounting, investigations, or damages analysis are also desirable
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing business valuation, litigation support, investigation, forensic accounting, or related financial advisory services
- Experience applying generally accepted valuation approaches and methods and preparing or reviewing business valuation analyses and reports
- Proficiency in MS Office, financial modeling, and valuation research and data resources
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex valuation and forensic concepts clearly
