About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop accurate cost estimates for highly customized retail display projects
- Review preliminary design packages, renderings, detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, and production specifications
- Determine materials, manufacturing processes, labour, timing, and other costs required for each project
- Assess manufacturing approaches and identify practical, cost-effective alternatives
- Develop detailed estimates and translate analysis into financial documents for the commercial team
- Use Excel to manipulate, validate, and present costing information
- Learn and work with Array-specific estimating tools and processes
- Walk Commercial team members through estimates, assumptions, labour, timing, and pricing considerations
- Manage multiple estimates and coordinate with lead estimators and other team members
- Develop knowledge of Array’s custom manufacturing processes, tools, engineering packages, and business areas
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing or production environment
- Understanding of materials, labour, production processes, quantities, and other cost inputs
- Experience with manufacturing processes and materials, ideally including plastics fabrication, assembly, cutting, CNC, laser, injection moulding, or similar processes
- Experience with metal or wood fabrication is relevant
- Direct retail display experience is an asset
- Highly comfortable working in Microsoft Excel to manipulate, analyze, validate, and present costing information
- Strong Excel capability with complex costing information and spreadsheets
- Analytical thinking and ability to assess materials, processes, and production approaches
- Clear and confident communication with colleagues and cross-functional partners
- Ability to learn new tools, processes, and ways of working
- Ability to adapt to custom projects and manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
