About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive strategy and deliver results by making recommendations to the Sales Director on strategy and customer plans
- Use data analysis and past experience to make decisions on strategy and direction
- Direct value-added sales opportunities through supply chain, engineering, supplier, or service excellence strategies
- Identify and help achieve sales branch goals
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage sales staff
- Manage employee performance, training, resources, coaching, feedback, and development plans
- Develop customer, supplier, and vendor relationships through superior service and operational excellence
- Solve problems and communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and vendors
- Attend reviews and meetings
- Increase management presence at customer accounts to access decision makers
- Act as an organizational leader, instill vision, and create enthusiasm to achieve goals
- Make data-driven recommendations to the team and management
- Manage budgeting and planning
- Facilitate process improvement based on data
- Participate in a sales compensation plan with variable OTE tied to specific sales-related goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a 4 year degree; or 8 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent related experience.
- Provides leadership to managers, supervisors and/or professional staff
- Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related units
- Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities
- Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility
- Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives
- Identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems
- Manages large teams of professionals and/or junior managers
- Must be able to travel to an Arrow office location as requested by Arrow leadership
- Must be able to work as a remote employee in California
