About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently manage buy-side M&A transactions from initial analysis through successful completion
  • Conduct company valuations
  • Develop transaction and financing structures
  • Prepare offers and relevant transaction documents and negotiate them together with the M&A team
  • Support and coordinate due diligence processes across relevant functional areas
  • Identify and analyze potential acquisition targets in the Health, Safety & Environment market
  • Proactively approach suitable target companies and develop existing relationships
  • Conduct market and company analyses to identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities
  • Assess the strategic and financial potential of prospective acquisitions
  • Prepare decision-making materials for management
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders as well as external advisors
  • Work closely with the M&A team, Head of M&A, CEO, and CFO
  • Monitor timelines, milestones, and decision-making materials throughout transaction processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a comparable field
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or a comparable transaction-focused role
  • Proven end-to-end deal experience, ideally on the buy-side
  • Experience independently managing small- to mid-cap transactions
  • Very good German language skills
  • Experience in a private equity or buy-and-build environment is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the Health, Safety, Healthcare, or Professional Services sectors is a plus
  • Experience working with management teams, investors, and external transaction advisors is desirable
  • Structured, analytical, and independent approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills
