About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the end-to-end virtualization infrastructure transformation project, from scoping through production deployment
Analyze the existing environment and contribute to defining the target architecture and migration strategy
Develop and manage virtual machine migration plans, identifying dependencies, prerequisites, and risks
Coordinate infrastructure, systems, network, storage, architecture, security, production, and application teams
Organize the design, preparation, testing, migration, cutover, and production deployment phases
Secure critical operations by anticipating impacts on availability, performance, and business continuity
Prepare cutover and rollback plans, as well as incident management procedures
Lead technical committees and workshops, engage stakeholders, and facilitate decision-making
Produce structured reporting on progress, risks, milestones, and schedule deviations
Ensure the quality of deliverables, including project scoping documents, migration schedules, dashboards, project governance documents, and operations handover packages
Lead the transformation of a VMware environment to Nutanix and Proxmox for a major healthcare-sector client

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience managing technical projects
Experience managing production virtual machine migration projects
Proficiency in VMware, Nutanix AHV, and Proxmox
Strong understanding of systems, network, and storage infrastructure
Experience working in complex environments with stringent availability and security requirements
Proficiency in project management methodologies, Microsoft Project, dashboards, and reporting
Ability to communicate with architects, technical engineers, production managers, and IT leadership
Ability to anticipate risks, challenge technical decisions, and propose practical solutions
Excellent communication, writing, and summarization skills
Availability for occasional travel to the client’s data centers
Primarily available between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with possible work outside standard business hours
