About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, configure and support on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization and core networking
  • Monitor system performance, capacity and availability and implement reliability improvements
  • Perform patching, updates and configuration changes under change-management processes
  • Troubleshoot complex technical and hardware issues and escalate or coordinate repairs and replacements
  • Administer and optimise Microsoft Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, networking, security controls and identity services
  • Support Microsoft Defender, Azure Security Center, Conditional Access and Zero Trust security initiatives
  • Assist with cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, Azure adoption, Landing Zones, subscriptions and RBAC
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online and OneDrive
  • Administer Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA and device compliance; support endpoint management with Microsoft Intune
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 service health and resolve Tier 2 issues
  • Manage incidents within SLAs and participate in problem, change and service-performance management
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Implement infrastructure security controls, remediate vulnerabilities and support compliance with organisational, regulatory and security standards
  • Support infrastructure projects, upgrades and migrations
  • Identify automation, optimisation and simplification opportunities
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, support guidelines and runbooks
  • Collaborate with cloud, security, service desk, applications teams, third-party providers and technology partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field AND 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a related technical operations role
  • Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and troubleshooting expertise
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365: Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Intune and Entra ID
  • Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization, storage systems, and backup technologies
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, firewalls, routing and switching
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem and Change Management
  • Excellent English communication skills for technical and business audiences
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, Microsoft Azure AZ-104 or AZ-800, Cisco, CompTIA+, and ITIL Foundation certifications are highly desirable
  • CISSP or similar security certification is a plus
  • Experience with device analytics or monitoring tools
  • PowerShell or another scripting language is a plus
  • Knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), CI/CD, GitHub Enterprise and Infrastructure as Code is a plus
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary
