About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently lead assigned innovation projects and workstreams within agreed priorities, budgets and governance
- Work with lawyers and Innovation Lawyers to understand legal work and identify opportunities for AI, legal technology, automation and process redesign
- Lead delivery across the AI and legal technology product lifecycle, including horizon scanning, vendor engagement, proofs of concept, pilots, implementation, adoption and optimisation
- Drive adoption and effective use of Legora, Microsoft Copilot and AI agents through use cases, training and ongoing support
- Plan, manage and execute projects, including scoping, risk and issue management, delivery and expenditure
- Document requirements and develop analysis, ROI and recommendations for business cases
- Recommend options and contribute evidence to lifecycle decisions such as scaling, optimisation and retirement
- Become a subject matter expert for key products, leading integration, configuration and customisation
- Introduce and embed legal technologies and AI tools through training, presentations and demonstrations
- Promote existing legal tech and AI solutions and identify technology-based solutions to business problems
- Monitor and report on tool adoption, usage and benefits, recommending improvements
- Engage lawyers, business services teams, vendors and senior stakeholders
- Liaise with IT, Information Security, Risk & Compliance and data owners to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory and professional obligations
- Provide task leadership, technical guidance and quality review to Innovation Analysts
- Deliver client demonstrations and contribute to pitches and tenders
- Monitor legal market, AI and technology trends and investigate potential solutions
- Foster responsible innovation, excellence and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or higher required, preferred in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Commerce or Law
- 5 years’ applicable experience is essential
- Project management and project delivery experience, ideally in a large consulting organisation, law firm or financial services company
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies
- Experience leading business application deployments, including business analysis, business requirements gathering, process design, change management and training
- Experience driving process review and process re-engineering projects
- Experience screening the technology landscape to identify appropriate solutions
- Understanding of Generative AI and experience applying Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot in a business context
- Certifications in Project Management, Process Re-engineering, agile delivery methods or Change Management are advantageous
- Experience configuring and testing process workflows in cloud-based productivity tools such as SharePoint, HighQ and MS Power Platform is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
- Familiarity with law firm challenges, the changing legal services market, legal work delivery and legal tech is desirable but not essential
- Track record of working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to establish credibility with demanding senior stakeholders
- Strong interest in AI and its practical application
- Ability to translate AI and technology developments into practical, well-governed solutions
- Self-starter able to work hands-on, with attention to detail and a high degree of autonomy
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
- Good judgement and risk awareness, including information security, data governance and professional obligations
