About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform general repairs and diagnosis on customer vehicles
  • Perform light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and steering and suspension repairs
  • Make accurate use of the multi-point inspection form on each vehicle
  • Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair orders
  • Communicate with the service advisor when additional work is needed or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
  • Maintain technician proficiency according to Asbury standards
  • Conduct road tests to determine work needed and confirm successful repairs
  • Perform all levels of vehicle diagnosis and repair
  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance services
  • Utilize product and technical training assigned by the manufacturer and management
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools
  • Maintain manufacturer CSI scores at or above Asbury-specified goals
  • Complete warranty repair order work, notations, timekeeping, and warranty claims
  • Report safety, welfare, or dealership integrity concerns to management
  • Return customer vehicles as clean as before servicing
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws and company policies regarding customer vehicles, property, and information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • EV/Hybrid Certifications required
  • Previous automotive technician experience required
  • Majority of manufacturer certifications
  • ASE certifications heavily preferred
  • Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred
  • Must have basic tools
  • Must have great technical and mechanical skills
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test)
  • Must complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know
