About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to patients through a hybrid in-person/telehealth model
  • Conduct psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for general mental health and substance use disorder across all age spectrums
  • Manage psychopharmacological treatment for psychiatric conditions
  • Provide medication-assisted treatment to patients with opioid use disorder in active withdrawal or recovery
  • Deliver supportive psychotherapy and motivational interviewing using trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and patient-centered approaches
  • Coordinate care between psychiatric, substance use treatment, and medical services
  • Support scheduled and walk-in patients
  • Complete validated rating-scale documentation and treatment plans to help determine level of care
  • Coordinate psychological testing, medical referrals, resources, peer supports, housing, and other social-determinant services
  • Participate directly in a multidisciplinary team including PCPs, pediatricians, OB/GYN, counseling, peer support staff, and care coordinators

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active and unrestricted Medical License in CA
  • DEA License
  • 2+ years of experience as a Psych provider (preferred)
  • Bilingual- English and Spanish (preferred)
  • A patient-first mindset
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during working hours
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for using a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
  • Adequate vision for reading computer screens and documents
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for virtual meetings and correspondence
  • Sufficient hearing ability for participating in phone calls or virtual meetings
  • Access to a quiet, dedicated workspace free from distractions with reliable internet connectivity
  • Ability to work in-person in Sacramento, CA
  • Comprehensive background checks and drug screenings are required as a contingency to gaining employment status
