About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the scientific team responsible for delivery of a full range of strategic publication work
  • Lead and manage accounts to ensure creation of high-quality, accurate medical/scientific content
  • Expand management responsibilities as the team grows
  • Develop and grow publication work with VPs of scientific and client services and managing directors
  • Identify and develop strategic and tactical business recommendations relevant to client strategy and marketplace needs
  • Develop, lead, and facilitate key strategy workshops
  • Articulate scientific and therapeutic information in Oncology
  • Foster innovation and collaboration across Ashfield to position the agency as a leader in publication work
  • Provide strategic account oversight
  • Mentor and manage staff
  • Lead scientific teams in content creation
  • Partner with scientific and client-services VPs and managing director in business development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD, PharmD, or MD with 10+ years of relevant medical communications experience
  • In-depth understanding of publication oncology work
  • Track record of successful scientific leadership across several clients/therapeutic categories
  • US launch experience required
  • Global experience is a plus
  • Some travel will be required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing staff/direct reports, potentially across multiple locations
  • Candidates must be based in the United States; east coast preferred
