About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Receive and respond to routine informational inquiries and service requests through telephones, emails, facsimiles, postal mail, and the internet
- Support the Case Processing Operation Center (CPOC) within the Defense and Intel Operating Group
- Access electronic databases to retrieve and record information relating to individuals’ background investigations
- Respond to escalated and more complex inquiries on a broader range of topics
- Communicate missing case information to agencies by email and phone
- Adapt and interpret internal process guidelines and contractual requirements
- Prepare and return background investigations that do not meet federal guideline requirements to requesting agencies
- Determine whether agency-provided information is acceptable based on federal guidelines and resource guides
- Modify subject records, case papers, and case status when applicable
- Screen and schedule eAPP investigations when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of government contracting experience in reviewing and scheduling investigations
- Twelve to eighteen (12-18) months of agency correspondence experience preferred but not required
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Outlook preferred but not required
- Professional written communication preferred but not required
- Effective written and oral communication with team members
- Ability to interpret procedure manuals, email correspondence, and instructions
- Ability to manage and complete work assignments independently or with minimal supervision
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to work on-site as needed
- Consent to a government background investigation
- US citizenship required due to the nature of the work
- Government services industry experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical activities including reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, walking, and standing
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Compliance with company policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations
