About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary internal sales partner to the assigned Regional Retirement & SDBA Business Development Consultant
- Develop and execute coordinated territory strategies with target advisors, opportunities, and sales activities
- Prepare the Regional Consultant for advisor meetings, opportunity reviews, finalist presentations, and strategic partner discussions
- Conduct proactive outbound outreach to financial advisors to identify and develop retirement plan opportunities
- Gather plan information, understand advisor objectives, and determine next steps
- Coordinate benchmarking, proposal development, investment comparisons, and other sales resources
- Educate advisors on AssetMark’s retirement plan fiduciary solutions, investment options, and value proposition
- Identify and develop Self-Directed Brokerage Account opportunities and support the SDBA sales process
- Maintain accurate retirement plan and SDBA opportunity pipelines in Salesforce
- Track next steps, close dates, estimated assets, contacts, proposals, milestones, and sales activity
- Conduct pipeline reviews and support accurate sales forecasting
- Build relationships with financial advisors, AssetMark teams, recordkeepers, and DCIO partners
- Participate in advisor meetings, webinars, educational events, and sales presentations
- Execute targeted outbound campaigns and follow up on marketing campaigns, referrals, events, and inbound leads
- Coordinate sales materials, proposals, benchmarking analyses, onboarding, and implementation handoffs
- Communicate advisor feedback, competitive intelligence, and marketplace trends to leadership
- Maintain expertise in retirement plans, SDBAs, recordkeeping platforms, regulatory developments, and competitive offerings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3–7 years of experience in retirement plan sales, financial services, internal wholesaling, business development, or a related role preferred
- Experience with SDBAs, retirement plan recordkeepers, or platforms such as PCRA and BrokerageLink is a plus
- SIE, Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 or Series 7 and Series 66 are required
- Knowledge of the retirement plan marketplace and financial advisor distribution channels strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct proactive outbound sales activity and develop new business opportunities
- Strong consultative selling, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills
- Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and follow-up activities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate CRM and pipeline information
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of an Internal/Regional sales partnership
- Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn and communicate complex retirement, fiduciary, and investment concepts
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
