About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Originate regulatory-compliant residential loan applications
- Develop client referral relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, and other centers of influence
- Expand and deepen customer relationships by identifying needs and matching them with products and resources
- Monitor expedited processing of loan applications through regular contact with loan processors
- Conduct regular pipeline management
- Follow up on leads from personal efforts, industry contacts, inquiries, advertising, and direct mail
- Conduct regulatory-compliant loan pre-qualification interviews
- Explain and recommend appropriate loan programs based on pre-qualification interviews
- Maintain and follow up on loan leads until resolution
- Accept and review residential mortgage loan applications for compliance with Bank, industry, and agency guidelines
- Notify applicants who do not qualify and begin processing qualified applications promptly
- Solicit and originate mortgage loan programs, including for low-to-moderate areas and low-to-moderate income individuals
- Liaise with local, state, and federal government agencies and nonprofit community development groups
- Identify customer needs and cross-sell Bank products and services or refer customers to business partners
- Promote the Bank's loan programs in the community
- Prepare records and reports regarding loan solicitation, origination, and closing activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 1-3 years Residential loan processing or origination with a financial institution or mortgage banking company required
- Must directly represent yourself and your own experiences during the recruiting and hiring process
- Must successfully complete a thorough background check
- Credit check required per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z
- Operate in compliance with internal policies, applicable regulations and laws, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and S.A.F.E. Act requirements
- Must submit required information to meet registry requirements, obtain a unique identifier, and maintain registration requirements as directed by the S.A.F.E. Act
- Must report suspicious activity, customer complaints, procedure violations, and ethical concerns as required
