About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Capture photos of ASI events, programs, and student life for marketing, public relations, and historical archiving
Serve as designated photographer for ASI events, publications, digital media, and news-based opportunities
Develop and maintain photo archives
Prepare photographic materials supporting Marketing, Design and Public Relations while ensuring brand consistency
Care for and maintain ASI-owned photographic and studio equipment
Plan and schedule photo shoots with key stakeholders and team members
Brainstorm and execute photos that elevate the ASI brand
Provide administrative support as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be available to work fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters
Eligible to work and have the legal right to work in the United States
Current Cal Poly Pomona student
Currently enrolled in a minimum of 6.0 units (undergraduate) or 4.0 units (graduate); international students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units (undergraduate) or 6.0 units (graduate) at the end of the add-drop period
Minimum overall and Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.0 and good academic standing
Individuals enrolled only in Extended University are not eligible for hire
Working knowledge of DSLR camera equipment required; experience with Canon equipment preferred
Experience in portrait photography preferred
Strong computer skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and archival software such as Flickr
Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends
Ability to work effectively with a team focused on high-quality publications and enhanced media presence
Ability to adhere to work rules, follow directions, use time effectively, and work productively under general supervision
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations
Ability to schedule and coordinate photography requests
Ability to maintain professional work conduct
Ability to operate an office workstation using word processing, spreadsheet, and other computer applications
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population and campus community
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
Photography portfolio required as part of the application
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds
Required to sign an Acknowledgment of Mandated Reporter Status and Legal Duty to Report Child Abuse and Neglect
