About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide customer service to retailers via phone, email, and internal documents
Assist with Fresh Department quality issues by working with division procurement teams and warehouses
Understand fresh assistant processes and help determine staffing needs, over-coverage, and unified Fresh Department processes
Serve as a liaison supporting member stores
Work with the Director of Fresh and Division VP on daily, weekly, and period reporting
Develop retailer relationships and ensure questions are answered
Assist sales departments with disposing of and selling outdated, damaged, and discontinued products according to company procedures and shrink objectives
Respond to member/owner requests regarding promotional products, programs, special events, and special requests
Collaborate with AWG departments, procurement, merchandising personnel, member staff, and external vendors
Streamline processes and maintain complete, accurate, and verified documentation
Travel occasionally to member retail stores
Work food shows, special customer events, and AWG events
Visit key markets with supervision to monitor competitive and market trends
Complete required reporting and analysis for the Director of Fresh Sales or Division VP
Work independently with little direct supervision
Complete other special projects as assigned

Requirements

Must be able to work successfully in a cross functional team environment
Must work independently and develop/manage own schedule
Must possess critical thinking and business process analytical skills
Must be able to work/travel on variable shifts as required
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Mathematical calculation ability

Planning and organizational abilities
Retail Grocery Experience a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient knowledge of MS Suite required
BA Degree in Business, Marketing or Accounting preferred
Must be able to bend, squat, sit, and reach from floor level to six feet
Must be able to move throughout various buildings, conduct training at retail sites, and load/unload materials and equipment
Must be able to lift or move at least 25 pounds and move product as needed
Must be able to sit in a car for long periods of time
Must be able to travel by car both day and night
Must have flexibility and ability to work nontraditional hours as needed, including before/after normal office hours and weekends
Must have valid driver's license
Must live in territory served
