About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations
  • Directly manage and develop a team of accountants
  • Review IPA/RKK journal entries, including capitation, claims, risk pools, AR/AP, and accrual-related entries
  • Review IBNR and perform related analysis
  • Review, maintain, and reconcile the general ledger monthly
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet analyses for multiple assigned entities
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close
  • Ensure SOX compliance-related controls are performed
  • Collaborate with the reporting team to provide information for SEC filings and external auditors
  • Ensure financial records comply with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage internal and external ad-hoc requests
  • Support external auditors as requested
  • Contribute to financial planning, financial controls, and implementation of new financial systems and processes
  • Improve existing accounting processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and healthcare industry-specific accounting practices
  • Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Sage
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with ERP systems like Sage
