About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the end-to-end accounting function for Astrana Health's Care Delivery segment
- Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, monthly close, balance sheet substantiation, and period-end reporting
- Oversee revenue recognition for clinics and ancillary operations under ASC 606
- Own intercompany and intersegment accounting, including pricing support, recording, and consolidation eliminations
- Lead hospital accounting for Foothill Regional Medical Center, including receivables, allowances, inventory, capital projects, fixed assets, and provider fee programs
- Support consolidation, variable interest, primary beneficiary, goodwill, and long-lived asset impairment conclusions
- Own lease portfolio accounting under ASC 842
- Lead and develop the Care Delivery accounting team
- Design and maintain SOX 404 internal controls and oversee remediation
- Drive close acceleration and standardization across Care Delivery entities
- Lead accounting integration for newly acquired clinics and ancillary service lines
- Partner with Revenue Cycle to reconcile billing, collections, adjustments, patient accounts receivable, and the general ledger
- Prepare and review segment financial statements, variance analysis, and executive commentary
- Coordinate external audit, internal audit, and regulatory relationships
- Drive automation and efficiency opportunities across the segment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of multi-entity or multi-site accounting operations
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and financial close processes
- Experience in a healthcare environment, including owned clinics, ambulatory care, ancillary services, or comparable provider-side operations
- Proven ownership of SOX 404 internal controls in a public company setting, including design, documentation, testing, and remediation
- Track record of leading close improvement initiatives and building standardized accounting processes across multiple entities
- Strong leadership presence and ability to develop teams, communicate clearly with executives, and drive cross-functional alignment
- Demonstrated ownership of intercompany and intersegment accounting in a multi-entity group, including elimination processes and intercompany pricing support
- Big Four or national firm audit background with healthcare or public-company clients preferred
- Experience integrating acquired entities onto a common ledger, policy set, and control framework preferred
- Familiarity with California managed-care or clinic regulations and related reporting requirements preferred
- Experience with ERP implementations or system migrations preferred
- Master's degree a plus
- Familiarity with California hospital programs and reporting, including provider fee or quality assurance fee programs and Medicare and Medi-Cal cost reporting preferred
- Experience supporting variable interest entity consolidation conclusions in a provider organization preferred
