About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee timely cash deposits while maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Keep the manager updated on relevant matters related to the position
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain complete transaction records
  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain an accurate running cash balance
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly and quarterly management reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Oversee accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses and maintain compliant financial records
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Assist with preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports required by the Department of Managed Health Care agreement
  • Submit quarterly and annual financial reports to health plans
  • Perform financial flux analysis
  • Prepare for financial audits and coordinate the audit process with external auditors and health plans
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
  • Assist with ad-hoc procedures and tasks requested by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
  • On track to obtain the CPA license or is a CPA
  • 3+ years progressively responsible experience in Accounting
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data, including financial statements and key ratios
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience involving extensive work with complex spreadsheets
  • Understanding of US GAAP and experience researching technical accounting issues
  • Ability to work independently or with others as needed
  • Problem-solving ability and ability to meet multiple due dates
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
