About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform and review journal entry input
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Issue invoices and confirm payments
- Check expense reimbursements
- Review and reconcile account balances
- Account for fixed assets and depreciation
- Record accruals and perform inventory valuation
- Prepare monthly trial balances
- Compile and report departmental profit and loss
- Support audit firm correspondence, including document preparation and inquiry responses
- Support preparation of financial reporting materials
- Support preparation of corporate tax, consumption tax, and other tax returns
- Prepare consolidation packages as needed
- Operate and improve accounting systems and expense reimbursement tools
- Comply with internal rules and audit requirements
- Collaborate with HR, procurement, engineering, and other departments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of accounting experience in a corporate environment
- Hands-on experience in monthly and annual closing
- Experience using accounting systems
- Native-level Japanese and the ability to read and write in English
- Experience with SAP (preferred)
