About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and interpret trust agreements and other legal documents for individuals applying for medical assistance programs
  • Prepare and issue trust determination letters to medical assistance eligibility offices
  • Conduct legal research and apply federal and state regulations to trust-related eligibility decisions
  • Analyze trust accountings to identify compliance concerns and eligibility issues
  • Manage recovery of remaining trust balances payable to the Department upon trust termination
  • Assist with administrative appeals and legal proceedings in partnership with the Colorado Attorney General's Office
  • Provide guidance and recommendations regarding trust compliance and Medicaid eligibility requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Law degree or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public policy, or another field related to the duties
  • Five years' experience drafting, reviewing, and interpreting trust instruments; and/or administering trusts, including decisions related to trust distributions and preparation or review of trust accountings and tax filings
  • Experience applying federal and state Medicaid regulations or another area of administrative law is preferred but not required
  • Wednesdays from 11-12 pm
  • Must pick up and drop off equipment onsite at the start and end of the contract
