About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Group’s monthly, quarterly and annual IFRS consolidation process
  • Coordinate inputs, eliminations, intercompany balances, foreign exchange and consolidation adjustments
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and disclosures
  • Own the consolidation timetable and resolve issues with finance teams across the Group
  • Perform technical accounting analyses for significant or complex transactions, including contract reviews
  • Prepare accounting position papers documenting facts, analysis, conclusions and required actions
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external audit process and act as the primary interface with auditors
  • Support acquisitions through opening balance sheet reviews and integration of acquired entities into the Group consolidation process
  • Maintain Group accounting policies and support consistent application across entities
  • Identify and implement improvements to consolidation, reporting and financial close processes
  • Build repeatable processes, documentation and controls to improve reporting quality and reduce manual effort
  • Act as a technical accounting partner to Finance, Legal, business leaders and entity-level finance teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional accounting qualification or equivalent experience, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or a comparable qualification
  • Demonstrated experience leading group consolidations and preparing consolidated financial statements under IFRS
  • Strong technical accounting experience, including the ability to review contracts, assess complex transactions and prepare well-reasoned accounting position papers
  • Experience managing an external audit cycle and acting as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Experience working in, or closely supporting, a publicly traded company or another environment with rigorous financial reporting and control requirements
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, or the ability to assess and explain the relevant differences between IFRS and US GAAP in practice
  • A practical, solutions-oriented approach: able to identify what is wrong, determine why it happened, recommend how to fix it and follow through on implementation
  • Preferred: experience with purchase price accounting, opening balance sheet reviews and post-acquisition integration
  • Preferred: experience in a multi-entity, international group with operations across different currencies and jurisdictions
  • Preferred: experience in media, entertainment, technology or video games
  • Preferred: experience improving consolidation tools, financial close processes, reporting systems or internal controls
  • Preferred: Big Four training or experience, particularly where followed by hands-on experience in a publicly traded or similarly complex company
