About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver an end-to-end service for consumers, from assessment of the original application to fulfilment stage
  • Communicate with customers and brokers to workshop applications and provide application decision outcomes
  • Assess consumer residential home loan applications within Athena's credit risk appetite
  • Decide applications within delegated lending authority (DLA)
  • Assess self-employed applications and applications to non-individual entities
  • Manage a pipeline of applications from application through to unconditional approval
  • Work with the Customer Services team to provide a seamless customer and broker journey
  • Ensure all risk and compliance standards are maintained
  • Support colleagues and contribute to team performance
  • Act as a leader in the company and contribute to a positive startup culture
  • Liaise with clients professionally and provide regular application progress updates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years residential credit assessment experience assessing PAYG and self-employed applications
  • Currently hold a Delegated Lending Authority
  • Experience assessing complex loans, e.g. bridging loans, commercial, trust and company loans
  • Experience reading and understanding company and trust financials
  • Confidence talking with customers and brokers to deliver decision outcomes
  • Ability to work within policy and make recommendations for improvement
  • Experience managing a pipeline of assessment applications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Driven and self-motivated to exceed targets and strive for excellence
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills with a high accuracy rate
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
