About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and assess home loan credit applications, both pre- and post-funding
  • Ensure applications meet Athena’s lending guidelines and compliance requirements
  • Identify policy breaches, process gaps, and potential risks through structured quality reviews
  • Facilitate coaching with credit assessors on process and compliance improvements
  • Work with operational teams to identify upskilling opportunities
  • Monitor and report suspicious transactions to AUSTRAC with Operational and Compliance teams
  • Maintain QA records and monitor trends
  • Contribute to regular reporting for senior management
  • Collaborate with Credit, Operational Risk, and Compliance teams on risk mitigation and process improvement
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit policies, procedures, and training frameworks
  • Foster a culture of open risk discussion, continuous learning, and accountability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance or Credit Operations
  • Strong knowledge of residential mortgage lending and credit assessment principles
  • Skilled at identifying issues and providing constructive feedback
  • High-level attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
