About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the analysis of functional requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop scenarios, test cases, and checklists for lower-complexity features, with guidance from the team
  • Execute manual functional, exploratory, and regression tests on web applications
  • Support integration testing and user acceptance testing by following defined scenarios
  • Identify and log bugs, including evidence, reproduction steps, and expected and actual results
  • Track logged defects and perform retesting after fixes are implemented
  • Document executed tests and their results in accordance with team standards
  • Support the validation of deliverables before they are released to production
  • Communicate questions, blockers, and results to the Product and Development teams
  • Support basic API testing and simple database queries, as needed and with guidance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Basic knowledge of software testing fundamentals and the software development lifecycle
  • Familiarity with functional, exploratory, and regression testing
  • Basic knowledge of creating test scenarios and test cases
  • Ability to understand requirements and acceptance criteria, seeking guidance when necessary
  • Familiarity with identifying and logging bugs
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong organizational skills for recording tests and evidence
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Interest in learning and developing a career in software quality assurance
  • Experience testing web applications is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of API testing with Postman or a similar tool is a plus
  • Familiarity with SQL for simple queries is a plus
  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools is a plus
