About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and conduct white-box and grey-box penetration tests
- Analyze the security of Linux systems, web applications, APIs, network services, and configurations
- Identify, assess, and document vulnerabilities and attack scenarios
- Conduct and further develop vulnerability scanning, dependency scanning, Static Application Security Testing, Dynamic Application Security Testing, and fuzzing
- Derive concrete recommendations for action and verify implemented fixes
- Conduct manual, exploratory, and automated functional, integration, and regression testing
- Develop and maintain test strategies, test cases, and automated security and QA tests
- Build and maintain reproducible test infrastructures using Ansible and OpenTofu
- Integrate tests and security checks into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate closely with software development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree, vocational training, or equivalent practical experience in computer science, IT security, or software development
- Experience in penetration testing, security testing, or analyzing technical vulnerabilities
- Experience with vulnerability scanning, dependency scanning, Static Application Security Testing, Dynamic Application Security Testing, or fuzzing
- Very good knowledge of Linux systems
- Knowledge of web, API, network, and server security
- Experience with test automation and quality assurance
- Experience with container technologies such as Podman or Docker
- Knowledge of Python and shell scripting
- Experience with Ansible and OpenTofu or Terraform
- Proficiency with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines
- Analytical, structured, and independent working style
- Good command of German and English
- Preferred: experience with Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Nmap, Trivy, or Grype
- Preferred: additional experience with Kubernetes, virtualization or cloud platforms, and Puppet
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, React, Foreman, or Katello is welcome but not required
- Contributions to open-source projects are welcome
