About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the management and execution of construction projects through the whole project life cycle using best-practice methodology
  • Establish and build positive, collaborative relationships with project stakeholders
  • Act as lead client interface, account lead, and first point of contact
  • Manage the commercial success of projects, including project accounts, governance, and resource requirements
  • Ensure service delivery compliance with organisational policies, toolkits, and standards
  • Line-manage team members, manage workload, and provide guidance, leadership, and technical expertise
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members
  • Work with regional and UK sector and account leads to develop new business opportunities
  • Lead fee proposals and bid submissions
  • Lead large-scale, complex projects from inception to completion
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legal and technical matters and applicable regional or national law
  • Apply quality assurance and environmental management fundamentals
  • Manage personal workplace safety in accordance with organisational policy
  • Monitor interactions with others in accordance with organisational values

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a construction related discipline
  • Professional membership of a recognised professional institution (MRICS, MAPM or equivalent)
  • Positive, collaborative, and innovative approach; ability to work on own initiative
  • Effective leadership of project management services in a client-facing role
  • Experience building positive client relationships and business networks
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering successful projects through a recognised project management methodology
  • Sound technical project management knowledge and established experience
  • Experience administering standard UK building contracts (NEC, SBCC and JCT forms)
  • Ability to advise on appropriate procurement routes
  • Effective contract document review, including contractual obligations, breaches, and remedies
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation relevant to the UK construction industry
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Recent client-facing project management consultancy experience within the Development, Commercial Property or Public sectors is highly desirable
  • Recent experience acting in an NEC Project Manager role is essential
