About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical delivery of pavement engineering design and research projects
- Lead a variety of consultancy projects and work packages in pavement engineering
- Prepare project deliverables on time, within budget and to high quality standards
- Enhance relationships with public and private-sector stakeholders
- Promote pavement and asset management within AtkinsRéalis
- Develop team talent through coaching and mentoring
- Support colleagues’ technical career development
- Champion company processes and policies
- Ensure adherence to safety, welfare, quality and environmental requirements
- Collaborate on highway, airport, port and industrial pavement projects and research into new materials and technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar disciplines
- Certified Pavement Engineer
- Proven technical leadership within pavement engineering
- Extensive knowledge of flexible, rigid and composite pavement design principles
- Extensive knowledge of earthworks and pavement materials, including concrete, asphalt and hydraulically bound materials
- Experience using UK and/or international pavement design standards for highways, airfields, ports and other applications
- Experience in specification, execution, analysis and interpretation of geotechnical and pavement investigation and evaluation techniques
- Experience managing and delivering projects and meeting client expectations
- Ability to work in a client-facing environment with good communication skills
- Proven ability to lead projects and work both independently and as part of a team
- May require relevant security clearance
- May require proof of UK residency for 5 years or longer for security vetting
