About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and understand design drawings and specifications
  • Maintain document tracking logs and technical documentation using Microsoft Excel
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and graphs
  • Monitor and interpret data for quality records
  • Write and develop construction work method statements and job hazard analyses for review by the Senior Project Coordinator
  • Complete field measurements, construction layout, and verification of construction activities
  • Perform regular quality inspections with the on-site quality inspector and design engineer representative
  • Complete quality inspection checklists in Aconex
  • Work closely with the Construction Superintendent and Foreman to provide on-site assistance
  • Attend subcontractor meetings and complete meeting minutes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Enrolled in a Civil Engineering 8–12-month Co-op Program from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of scheduling
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Strong work ethic and high motivation
  • Ability to read and understand project specifications and engineering drawings
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in the field for much of the workday
  • Comfortable with Working at Heights
