About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement project-specific contracting and procurement strategies
- Support procurement planning, package development, bidder prequalification, and sourcing activities
- Prepare and administer RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluations, commercial assessments, and award recommendations
- Lead commercial negotiations with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and service providers
- Coordinate internal reviews and approvals under company governance requirements
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize construction, consulting, supply, service, and EPCM agreements
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Define contract scope, deliverables, schedule, payment terms, warranties, and performance obligations
- Partner with project stakeholders and legal counsel on project risk allocation
- Administer contract changes, entitlement assessments, change order negotiations, and risk management
- Monitor contractor performance, compliance, payment milestones, warranties, and deliverables
- Support project controls through accruals, forecasting, and cash-flow coordination
- Review contractor closeout documentation for contractual and regulatory compliance
- Participate in project meetings with clients and contractors
- Perform regular site visits as required
- Utilize SAP, Ariba, and other e-procurement and contract management systems
- Contribute to continuous improvement of contracting processes and tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Law, Finance, or related discipline
- Minimum 12 years of experience in contract management, procurement, commercial management, or project services
- Demonstrated experience supporting major capital projects in mining, industrial, infrastructure, energy, or manufacturing sectors
- Proven experience managing the full contract lifecycle from procurement planning through project closeout
- Strong knowledge of commercial contracting, construction contracts, risk management, and contract administration
- Experience leading commercial negotiations and managing complex stakeholder relationships
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with e-procurement and contract management systems such as SAP and Ariba
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Ability to perform regular site visits, up to three days per week as required
