About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage project execution, client relations, and business growth for the CEI business
  • Oversee CEI operations, assignments, activities, and resources for the Northeast region
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to managers and staff
  • Achieve business growth, quality, client satisfaction, and project profitability goals
  • Develop and implement strategy and identify staffing opportunities with business units and sales directors
  • Lead CEI staff and promote teamwork, quality, client service, safety, and excellence
  • Monitor staffing needs and lead recruiting, hiring, transferring, or terminating staff
  • Determine salary offers and salary and position adjustments
  • Conduct performance reviews and career planning sessions
  • Provide performance feedback, counseling, and professional development guidance
  • Administer and observe construction activities for quality and conformance with plans and specifications
  • Review project financial performance and identify potential problem projects
  • Lead observation, testing, sampling, and documentation of construction work
  • Monitor quality control standards and review project QC plans and QA compliance audits
  • Develop strategic plans, pursue project opportunities, and maintain client relationships
  • Evaluate project opportunities and recommend go/no-go decisions
  • Develop proposal teams and marketing budgets
  • Conduct contract negotiations with clients and subconsultants
  • Review project budgets, monitor profitability, accounts receivable, and client billings
  • Represent the organization to primary clients, public officials, and subconsultants
  • Collaborate with CEI leadership and business unit market leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in field of practice
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration is required
  • 15 years of experience since B.S. may qualify, with at least three years in project management or operational management responsibilities
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production
  • Highly skilled at promoting the firm and negotiating advantageous contracts
  • Business vision and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to represent the firm effectively to clients, key public officials, and the community
  • Ability to work in the Philadelphia or Edison office location
  • Ability to manage CEI operations in the Northeast region
