About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Author technical ecological reports.
- Analyse bat sound data.
- Use GIS to support desk studies, site scoping, protected-species records, and biodiversity net gain assessments.
- Work to tight timescales and follow approved methodologies.
- Deliver responsibilities by meeting deadlines as part of a team.
- Develop technical skills through Continuing Professional Development.
- Manage own time and workload in collaboration with team members.
- Liaise daily with the UK team and build effective working relationships.
- Manage work enquiries and prepare bids under guidance from senior staff.
- Carry out additional ad hoc activities as required by process leads.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree in ecology/environmental sciences/environmental engineering.
- 2-4 years of experience working on ecology projects; experience in the UK region preferred.
- Experience in Anabat Insight/Kaleidoscope.
- Proficient GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS).
- Working knowledge of UKHab classification and the Defra Metric preferred.
- Proficient ability to interpret, review and analyse data to produce reports.
- Understanding of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation, planning policies, and licensing requirements.
- Previous experience of working in international projects.
- Project management experience including technical, financial and quality assurance aspects.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
- Highly motivated and proactive, focused on achieving and delivering technical excellence.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
- Strong report writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Quick to learn and adapt on the job.
- Effective at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Logical and organized in project delivery, following senior team members' instructions and guidance.
- Awareness of how delivery time affects financial performance and ability to proactively manage time, resources, and budget.
- Ability to identify and communicate project or team concerns to the immediate Line Manager.
- Willingness to share information and knowledge with team members.
- Initiative and basic leadership skills to direct a small work group.
