About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise members of the geomatics team in Quebec and provide guidance, day-to-day support, and constructive feedback
  • Engage, coach, and support the development of technical staff
  • Foster a collaborative environment focused on quality, consistency, productivity, health, and safety
  • Assign, prioritize, and coordinate incoming requests
  • Plan team resources, schedules, and capacity; balance workloads and monitor utilization rates
  • Track work progress, resolve delivery issues, and flag risks, constraints, or capacity gaps
  • Present workload, productivity, and resource-needs forecasts
  • Translate internal client and project requirements into priorities, deliverables, work plans, and resource needs
  • Support the delivery of geomatics and digital services for projects in environmental, civil engineering, mining, hydroelectric, geotechnical, and other technical sectors
  • Serve as a liaison between Applied Technologies, project teams, business units, and stakeholders without specialized geomatics expertise
  • Collaborate with BIM, reality capture, digital twins, and data analytics teams to propose integrated solutions
  • Represent the team in technology discussions concerning licenses, software upgrades, network infrastructure, and Esri products
  • Explain the value of geomatics and digital services and identify opportunities to improve projects
  • Contribute to the vision, service offering, strategic roadmap, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in the governance, standards, and common working methods of the geomatics community of practice
  • Collaborate with geomatics management, the other Team Lead, and leadership to identify opportunities for service growth

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in geomatics, geography, geographic information systems, engineering, environmental sciences, computer science, data science, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in geomatics
  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in supervision, coordination, or management
  • Strong hands-on experience with Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, and related extensions
  • Experience coordinating and mentoring technical staff, ideally across multiple offices
  • Engaging leadership and demonstrated ability to coach a technical team
  • Excellent ability to establish priorities, coordinate tasks, balance workloads, and meet delivery commitments
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French
  • Good command of English required to collaborate with colleagues, project teams, and clients outside Quebec
  • Good understanding of data governance, standardization, digital delivery processes, and disciplines complementary to geomatics
  • Ability to contribute to service development, technical vision, and continuous improvement
