About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support projects involving mining water management
  • Conduct hydrological studies to assess site conditions and prepare water and mass balances
  • Provide guidance on the design of civil engineering and water treatment structures
  • Design a range of hydraulic structures for water management, including ditches, spillways, ponds, pumping stations, culverts, and outlets
  • Participate in local and international projects and studies
  • Conduct hydrological studies and flood routing studies in the mining sector
  • Perform dam and dike breach analyses involving water and mine tailings
  • Prepare construction drawings
  • Provide site supervision and project management
  • Participate in the preparation of proposals
  • Support existing resources in each discipline as needed
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in civil engineering, specializing in hydrology, hydraulics, or an equivalent field
  • A master’s degree in engineering or a related field is an asset
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying scope and complexity
  • Willingness and availability to travel between offices
  • Strong knowledge of PCSWMM, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS
  • Experience with FLO-2D, FLOW-3D, or GoldSim is an asset
  • Experience designing municipal water management infrastructure is an asset
