About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze client needs and define the scope of work, deliverables, required resources, and project timelines for mechanical projects.
Carry out and lead the mechanical design and calculations for assigned projects.
Ensure the technical quality of deliverables in accordance with applicable verification processes.
Advise project managers on mechanical engineering issues and propose appropriate solutions.
Manage assigned projects, including scope, schedules, budgets, resources, changes, and client communications.
Prepare and review specifications and technical reports.
Prepare and review cost estimates, validate quantities and assumptions, and explain budgetary impacts.
Ensure technical coordination among disciplines and the various stakeholders.
Resolve interface issues and ensure solution consistency.
Provide technical support during construction and analyze questions and discrepancies identified on site.
Mentor less experienced team members, share knowledge, and contribute to improving work methods and deliverable quality.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Have approximately 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, particularly in the delivery of industrial projects.
Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and be authorized to practise the professional activities associated with the position’s responsibilities.
Have in-depth knowledge of the industrial sector.
Be able to propose mechanical solutions tailored to clients’ technical and operational constraints.
Demonstrate the ability to independently lead mechanical projects.
Demonstrate the ability to coordinate stakeholders and monitor budgets, schedules, and deliverable quality.
Ability to mentor less experienced team members.
